This is one of my favorite topics and you'll see it reappear from time to time. It's on all the 30 day challenges as well.

Light is the single most important element of photography. Find it, train your eye to seek it out, use it, manipulate it, rely on it.

I'm lucky enough to live in a place where things like this happen fairly regularly.

Take a picture of something that frustrates you. I have done battle with this train more times than I could ever begin to tell you. It's just a thing here locally...if you're late, just blame the train. You will immediately be forgiven because everyone understands.

It always comes when I am already running late or have somewhere to be.

Having a little boy in the backseat who begs for the windows down so he can hear it makes up for it, though.

Funny how the things in life that frustrate us grown ups are often the most fun for kids.

Show me something that is a part of who you are, where you come from, the story of your family.

I am approximately half Irish. My husband gave me this Claddagh ring on my birthday about 10 years ago now. I love, love, love it.

This one is simple enough,  but there are so many possibilities!  Find something with an interesting texture and get a tight shot of it.

This one is a closeup of completely ordinary denim, with whiskering and fading.
